Micro Needling
Microneedling is a remarkable non-laser and non-surgical treatment that stimulates collagen production in the skin and aids the creation of fresh tissue. It can aid the tightening of skin, diminish the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, scarring and hyperpigmentation and improve the overall health and condition of your skin.
A microneedling pen has a unique electronic mechanism which allows your practitioner to control and mange the intensity of your treatment to be able to tailor it to your specific needs. A solution containing hyaluronic acid, minerals, vitamins and peptides is also applied to the skin and these act to stimulate cell proliferation, improving your skin contours and elasticity.
The process is performed by using the microneedling pen to stamp microscopic channels into the skin which stimulates a wound healing response with intensified renewal, repair and rejuvenation capabilities. Naturally occurring growth factors are released into the skin to stimulate the reformation and deposition of fresh collagen.
Why choose microneedling?
Microneedling is a skin treatment that is performed by dermatologists and aestheticians to treat a number of different skin conditions, including fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, stretch marks and rosacea.
Aside from being an effective method for the treatment of those skin conditions, microneedling is considered to be a safe, effective and minimally invasive way to rejuvenate the skin. By triggering the renewed production of collagen by creating microscopic wounds, the body responds by creating fresh tissue to heal the targetted area, giving a refreshed and renewed appearance to the skin.
How does microneedling work?
From the outside looking in, microneedling sounds like a more dangerous treatment than it actually is. As a form of cosmetic procedure, microneedling involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with a number of tiny needles to create an array of microscopic wounds in the surface of the skin. The needles come in a pre-determined length to ensure that they penetrate to the area that they need to treat.
Prior to treatment, a numbing cream is applied to the skin to help to alleviate any pain or discomfort that could occur. The microneedling device is then moved around the treatment area to create the small wounds in the skin. As a direct reaction to the wounds on the skin, the body responds by triggering its own natural healing response in the treated area. The response from the body is to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, two of the proteins which are responsible for providing the skin with a youthful appearance.
The renewed production of both collagen and elastin beneath the skin then results in an external tightening of the skin, leaving you with radiant and younger looking skin.
What are the benefits?
The benefits of microneedling are simple, once the wounds that are created during treatment have fully healed, the newly triggered production of collagen and elastin beneath the skin will lead to a younger and more radiant appearance to the skins exterior.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does it feel?
The treatment itself will cause a small amount of pain and discomfort so a topical numbing cream is applied to the area before carrying out the treatment to ensure that any pain is minimised. There are variable treatment intensities which allow us to further control the level of comfort within the treatment.
When will I see results?
You will see a plumping effect of your skin almost immediately, however the body’s natural healing process takes time and it can take anywhere up to six weeks before you see significant results of this treatment, though some improvements can be seen much sooner. The visible results will continue over the following months though several treatments are usually required to maintain the look of the results.
What aftercare will I need?
Following the treatment, your skin will appear red and flushed. This is a normal sign the that treatment is working as intended and will subside within a few days. To ensure that your skin is protected, SPF30 should be worn daily for at least two weeks following your treatment and we recommend an ongoing daily skincare regime to help promote and achieve optimum results.
Will I need more than one session?
