Over the past 12 months with the lockdown in the UK, everyone has a bit of an excuse when it comes to gaining a few extra pounds. Whether it’s lack of exercise, eating a bit more than usual, sitting down for longer periods or simply just the effects of time itself, all of these have an effect on the skin, muscle and tissues and defines how it looks.
Some areas of the body are more noticeably affected than others and the buttocks fall under this category, with the result of the above being loos skin, excessive amounts of extra fat, cellulite and increased water retention. All of these contribute to an enlarged rear end that may cause you to look twice at yourself in the mirror each morning.
So, if you’re looking to change the appearance of your bum for something that looks and feels tighter and more lifted, a non-surgical bum lift might be the perfect treatment for you.
Exercise like squats and thrusts can help
Before looking down the route of non-surgical aesthetics like the non-surgical bum lift, different exercises can actually be incredibly beneficial for your buttocks. While it won’t actually do anything for your skin and any cellulite appearance, it’s actually the only muscle in the body that you really can’t get too much of and it has a very simple and direct effect on your body. The more work you put in, the nicer the appearance of your bum.
The following exercises are really good to help work on the appearance of your bum from the inside out;
- Squats are really good for building up the gluteus maximus, but they also directly affect and build up the quad muscles as well which can lead to bulky thighs in some people so whilst some squats are good, too many can be bad.
- Deadlifting weights can isolate the gluteus maximus much more than squats will but, for those who are less experienced at weight lifting, can be a dangerous exercise for some.
- One legged squats place more emphasis on the bum and less on the quads than regular squats do, helping to lift your bum without the bulky thighs.
- You can also do “donkey kicks” which are really good at isolate the muscles in the bum. Doing these with ankle weights really helps to maximise the effect.
- Another really good way to build the gluteus maximus up without bulking up your thighs are pelvic thrusts.
But, as we mentioned before, exercise actually does nothing to address any of the other problems like sagginess, cellulite or excess skin which means that gravity will still have its effects and cause the bum to be dragged down.
While these won’t help with those, they do help in the long run alongside bum lift methods to improve the appearance of the bum.
So how do I fight the other aspects?
There are a number of bum lift treatments that are available, but at Better Body Clinics there is one that we specialise in. HIFU and fat freezing are two of the most popular non-surgical body treatments that are available in the world of body aesthetics at the moment.
HIFU, or high intensity focused ultrasound, is something that does what it says on the tin. It uses high intensity ultrasound energy that is highly focused at a targeted area to stimulate the production of collagen deep within the tissues of the skin. As the collagen levels start to increase, the skin starts to lift and tighten which fights off the signs of sagging skin and gives the skin on the buttocks a more youthful appearance. When used in a bum lift treatment, this is the part that is responsible for helping to get rid of the effects of ageing and gravity.
The fat freezing treatments that operate hand in hand with HIFU are a safe and painless alternative to conventional liposuction and when the fat cells are cooled down to a specific temperature, they actually start to crystallise and are destroyed by the body and flushed away as waste. By using this treatment to target stubborn fat and cellulite, you can fight away these fatty buildups one and for all. This is really important when it comes to the bum lift as cellulite and excess fat are what cause many people to have issues with their buttocks.
So now, by combining the two treatments together, you can fight away the appearance of fat and cellulite as well as tightening the skin to give your buttocks a firmer and rounder appearance, or as it’s more commonly known, the non-surgical bum lift.
