The dermaplus treatment is a safe and effective treatment option that uses a combination of both microneedling and radiofrequency technologies to give the neck, face and body a younger and fresher appearance. The technology behind it is considered as a subdermal adipose remodeling device (SARP) that is used to remodel and provide a new contour for the area of the body that is being treated. By penetrating deep into the skin and the fat beneath it, it effectively morphs the body into a smoother and sleeker appearance.
The microneedling aspect of the treatment is performed to trigger the natural healing responses of the body, which flood the area that has been punctured with the dermaplus devices with collagen to repair the skin.
Radiofrequency also stimulates the collagen fibers beneath the skin which further encourages the production of new collagen, which in combination with the microneedling aids in the rejuvenation and tightening of the skin.
Why choose a dermaplus treatment?
The dermaplus treatment is a powerful and innovative form of facial treatment that offers the ability to tighten, lift and contour the skin using a combination of microneedling and radiofrequency technologies. By stimulating and restoring the production of collagen and elastin deep beneath the skin, the treatment is capable of smoothing wrinkles and repairing the signs of damage and ageing on the skin.
Generally, dermaplus is performed to treat fine lines, wrinkles and sagging on the face, eyes and neck and is suitable for most skin types, taking just 30 minutes to be performed to provide incredible results.
How does a dermaplus treatment work?
The dermaplus device utilises the microneedling technology to stimulate the production of collagen within the skin. Using the specialised handheld tool, the dermaplus device stamps a number of microscopic wounds into the skin to stimulate the natural healing responses of the body, triggering the renewed production of collagen within the skin. It’s the collagen which is responsible for giving the skin it’s youthful appearance and by renewing and intensifying its production, the skin is able to heal and repair any damage to the cells. The body also releases proteins known as “growth factors” into the skin which aids the production of collagen and healing capabilities of the body.
The radiofrequency technology allows the treatment to target deeper layers of the dermis than other non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatments are able to, aiding with the appearance of age related concerns such as fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks and acne scars. In addition to the microneedling, the treated area is also targetted with thermal waves which are used to effectively damage and destroy the fat cells beneath the skin. These waves break down and separate the fat cells into distinct clusters, mainly water, fatty acids and glycerol. Once broken down, they are absorbed into the body and are flushed out via the lymphatic system.
What are the benefits?
The dermaplus treatment is capable of providing a tightening and lifting effect to the skin, whilst simultaneously moulding the malleable fat beneath the skin to result in a smoother and more even tone and texture to the skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does dermaplus last?
The results of a dermaplus treatment generally last for around 12 to 18 months, but to maintain the results for longer than this it’s recommended to undergo an annual top up treatment.
When will I see my results?
The results will start to show after a few days and will then continue to improve for the next few weeks and months until your final results are shown at around the 3 month mark.
What are the side effects of dermaplus?
As with most aesthetic treatments, there are a few possible side effects that can happen after undergoing treatment. For dermaplus, the possible side effects include swelling or redness in the area which has been treated (although this should die down with a few days), as well as some possible scabbing where the microneedling aspect of the treatment has been performed.
Is the treatment painful?
While the dermaplus device utilises needles to perform the treatment, it’s generally not considerd to be painful and the vast majority of patients report that that treatment is tolerable. Numbing creams can also be used to assist with any discomfort during treatment.
Is there any specific aftercare to consider?
For the first 24 hours post treatment, it’s recommended to not wear any makeup as this can irritate the skin and potentially lead to infection. For this period, you should only use gentle cleansers and moisturisers that can help to deal with dry skin. It’s also possible that the skin may be sensitive to the sun and UV exposure is advised to be avoided where possible, with a high SPF sun screen used when going outside daily.
