Fat Freezing
HD Lipo Fat Freeze is a safe, painless and non-surgical alternative to conventional liposuction. When fat cells are cooled to a specific temperature, the process of crystallisation begins and the fat cells are permanently destroyed and flushed naturally through the body’s lymphatic system as waste.
The process itself is particularly effective in targeting stubborn spot fat areas that are more resilient to exercise. Due to the temperature used to perform this treatment, skin, organs and neighbouring bodily structures are not affected as much colder temperatures are needed to cause detriment to these areas.
The most commonly treated areas with fat freezing are;
- Abdomen
- Legs
- Thighs
- Bingo Wings
- Back
- Buttocks
- Chest
Why choose fat freezing?
Fat freezing a simple and non-surgical alternative to more traditional fat removal treatments such as liposuction. One of the main reasons why people tend to opt for a fat freezing session as opposed to undergoing surgery such as liposuction is simply the fact that it is non-invasive, meaning that there are no incisions made in the body to remove the fat.
Another reason why people opt for fat freezing sessions are the amazing results that they are capable of achieving. Fat freezing is widely known in the aesthetic world as one of the most effective methods of non-surgical fat loss and is able to remove between 20-65% of the unwanted stubborn fat in a treated area in just one session.
How does fat freezing work?
Following a thorough consultation to assess the best areas for treatment and the frequency of treatments required, an applicator ‘cup’ will be chosen. Dependent on the exact system chosen, an anti-freeze membrane may be placed on the skin for additional protection. A gentle vacuum suction will gently draw any fatty tissue into the applicator and cools it precisely at a controlled temperature for approximately 60 minutes.
After a few minutes, the treatment area will start to become numb and the vacuum suction and cooling sensation will decrease. The majority of our clients then choose to relax for the remainder of the procedure by sleeping, watching TV or simply using their phones. Once the treatment has been completed, the applicator will be removed and the area will then be massaged with a lipolysis cream to help break down the remaining cell membranes.
What are the benefits?
The first major benefit of fat freezing is that the results look natural and appear gradually, giving your skin the ability to maintain its elasticity and reduce the fat at a natural and proportionate rate. The results, once they appear, are permanent as the fat cells are permanently removed without any scarring or marks that you would associate with surgery like liposuction, and there’s no recovery time or downtime that means you need to stay off your feet.
It can even be used to target multiple areas of the body at the same time, making it one of the most efficient fat removal procedures around.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is it?
The HD Lipo Fat Freeze treatment uses a cooling technology that results in a localised reduction of fat. A wide number of clinical studies have shown that fat cells are much more responsive to the effects of cold temperatures in a vast contrast to the surrounding tissue as the fat cells will begin to crystallise at a different temperature to the other surrounding cells. This means that it is specific in breaking down the fat cells whilst having no effect on all other tissue like the skin, muscle mass and nerve fibres.
Does it work?
Yes, it does work and is widely known as one of the most-effective methods of non-surgical fat loss with successful losses of between 20-65% of fat cells in just one session.
How does it work?
A specialised vacuum applicator with cooling plates is positioned on the chosen area which is then cooled – the fat cells are especially sensitive when exposed to cold temperatures. The cooled fat cells then begin to crystallise and as a result of this, no longer continue to function as usual and begin to break down via natural bodily functions. The surrounding cells, blood vessels and nerves are much less sensitive to exposure to this level of cold and remain unaffected. This will result in the elimination of the fat cells without causing any damage to the surrounding tissue.
Do I need a consultation?
Yes we require a consultation before performing a treatment of this type. Initially, we are able to hold a telephone consultation to help you to decide if the treatment is suitable for you which can be incredibly useful if you would be travelling to see us for the treatment, however before any treatment commences we will always carry out a face to face consultation. We are able to book both a consultation and treatment on the same day and offer a flexible consultation process to help fit around your individual schedule.
What happens to the fat cells that have been treated?
The fat cells are dissolved into the body via the lymphatic and immune systems and are then flushed from the body via natural processes. The treated area will become smaller in size over the following weeks and months, the time this takes and extent of the treatment will vary dependent on the individual.
How long is the session?
Every session will include enough time for the consultation, treatment and will also include some time set aside to provide aftercare advice. Our technology is among the newest technology available on the market which means that treatment times with Better Body Clinics are now approximately 30 minutes per area. We are able to treat up to two areas at one time which in turn reduces the amount of time that you will need to spend in the treatment chair. Due to the individual requirements of each individual patient, your treatment will be tailored specifically for you in your consultation and dependent on the amount of areas to be treated, the treatment may require additional time.
